Alston Chat Room Crowdfunding Project

Since The Chat Room opened 5 months ago, there have been about 600 ‘visits’ by approximately 150 different people. Most of these are locals, but about 40 have been by visitors looking for a cup of tea. We are building up friendships with people, and we are planning on holding an Alpha course in the near future.

We have also hosted many meetings, for example a weekly Communion service is held over Thursday lunchtime, attracting about a dozen people from the Anglican and Methodist congregations.

The Chat Room will also host Lent Lunches from Tuesday 28th February – this is also an ecumenical arrangement with 2 lunches and studies being provided by each of the Anglican, Methodist and Catholic congregations.

The Chat Room recently set up a Crowdfunding project (please click on this link). This will help to pay the heating and electric bills –  many kind donations have  already been received for which we are very grateful. If you would like to support the work we are doing, please follow the link. The Co-op is match-funding all donations, so whatever you give is worth double!
