Our church building is not open during the week
We meet in St Wulstan’s, the Catholic church in King’s Arms Lane, an arrangement that has existed for 20 years, and works well. We are a caring family of believers who love one another and welcome all to our weekly services. We believe that the bible is the word of God, and seek to live our lives by the wisdom found in its pages.
We share in an ecumenical house group once a fortnight. A monthly meeting is held in nearby Nenthead, called Pennine Praise. This is an informal time of worship with more contemporary songs, preceded by a shared meal together. This is held on the first Sunday of the month at The Hive, which is a former Methodist chapel.
The newest initiative in Alston is ‘The Chat Room’ which will be a meeting place where the community can come for a chat and a cuppa. We hope this will be manned by volunteers from the Methodist, Catholic and Anglican congregations, as well as members of the community who have already said that they would like to be involved.
