Prayer points for Melmerby, Saint John the Baptist and Community– September 2026
Pray for community cohesion and mutual respect
Give thanks for the community groups which support the workings of the village and all who volunteer with these groups including:
- The Parish Council who are working for the greater good of the community.
- The Village Hall Committee who work hard to ensure that we have a hub in which we can meet together as a village.
- The PCC and the Friends of our church who work hard throughout the year to ensure that the church is comfortable and welcoming.
- Our team of mowers and loppers who work hard in our burial ground.
Give thanks for the new owners of The Shepherds Inn and their passion for working with our community.
Pray for young people in the village, that they feel a valued asset and that their needs are understood and embraced.
Our prayer is that we support and respect our neighbours always seeking the common good and God’s guidance.
Pray for the vulnerable and ill people in our village and those who care for them.
Pray also for new people moving into our village who may feel lost or lonely .
We pray that they feel embraced and supported as they build new lives.
