Currently only open for monthly evening service.
Salkeld Dykes chapel was opened in 1832 having being built by the local community for the cost of £120. According to records, a harmonium was added in 1885 to support the growing Methodist love of singing.
The Chapel celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1982 with the publication of a souvenir brochure to support a weekend of celebration. Nestled in a farming community, Harvest Festivals have always been well support with marvellous displays of produce which until recently were auctioned on the following Monday evening. In August 2022, it held a concert and service to mark its 190th anniversary.
The chapel is currently open for one Sunday evening service a month as the congregation seek to develop a sustainable future.
