Our church is always open
St Cuthbert’s Church, Edenhall is a Grade 1 listed building overlooking the beautiful parkland of Edenhall Estates, complete with a ha ha and swans on the lake.
The church stonework is late Saxon/early Norman and has a beautiful stained glass window. The chancel was extended in the 12C, beneath which lies the vault containing the remains of the Musgrave family. Family members visit every year from all corners of the globe.
Prior to Covid an annual summer fund raiser was held, usually a river walk followed by a BBQ and it is hoped to continue this tradition in the very near future.
St Cuthbert’s most popular service continues to be the monthly Evensong, when the church is either flood lit with summer sunshine through the windows or lit up like a beacon in the surrounding parkland on a winter’s evening.
