Revd. Katharine Butterfield
Our church building is open for private prayer daily from 9am to 5pm.
At St. Nicholas’ Church, Lazonby we see ourselves as ordinary people, seeking to follow and serve Jesus together – in our community, and for the community. We value our connections with the local primary school, and church members aim to be part of their community and help it in various ways.
We come from a wide range of church traditions, but unity is important to us. We respect one another’s views and different giftings, as we worship and serve God together.
Our Sunday services vary from Anglican Communion and Morning Worship to our more informal, monthly “Zest” all-age service.
A monthly mid-week Communion at Eden Court, (our local retirement scheme for the over 55’s), is also important. Families may enjoy our “T-Break” club after school – fortnightly in term times, and our “Zest” service is especially child friendly. We also support the holiday “Family Fun Time” and “Kettle Calling” that take place in the neighbouring village of Kirkoswald.
Come to “Food for Thought” to study the Bible with others or meet up for prayers for the community on Friday mornings and alternate Tuesday evenings.
