We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers who hope to work together to share God’s love and spread his message while enagaging and helping our community. Cumbria is at the cutting-edge and forefront of ecumenical partnerships and is looked to by other parts of the country as a pioneer and example to follow in such cross-denominational co-operation. And, we in this particular Mission Community are leading the way for the rest of the county!
“What should we do then?” the crowd asked. John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
There are various ways you can help support the East of Eden Mission Community, here are just a few:
Come worship together and build a strong community
Attend and enjoy our events and groups
Share and spread the message of all that we do
Volunteer your time or expertise to help further our work
Donate what you can to allow us to offer help to more people
Time is one of the most valuable things we can share.
Whether it is one of our groups or events that you could help at, a new project that aligns with the Community’s values, or simply sharing our message within your own friendship group so that we can help as many people as possible.
There are many opportunities within our community itself, if you can let us know your availability. We also have our RESTORE charity shops, with a new store in Penrith, where we are always looking for more fantastic volunteers. No previous experience is necessary – just a love for people and a willingness to get involved.
East of Eden Mission Community provide community events and gatherings, most completely free of charge. To keep these services running, we rely on volunteers and donations.
